    Juri is about to turn 12 and feels nervous about absolutely everything.     Kari Stai

    Kari Stai is a Norwegian illustrator and author, known foremost for her prize winnning six books about the duo, Yesper and Noper (in Italy Simone e Nomone, Il Gatto Verde), translated to several languages and adapted to film and theatre. After her studies at Oslo Academy of the Arts, she majored in Visual Communication. She also studied at the Oslo School of Drawing and Painting and trained on teaching art at Telemark University College. She won the Norwegian Ministry of Culture Award for Best debut in Children’s Book, followed by various other awards and prizes, including the prestigious international selection White Ravens for Passibly Happy.

    Maria Valeria D'Avino

    Maria Valeria D’Avino was born in Rome, and she studied Scandinavian Literature in Rome and Copenhagen. She worked about ten years at RAI and then dedicated her time to literary translation. She has translated Danish, Norwegian and Swedish fiction for publishers such as Iperborea, Marsilio, Feltrinelli, Sellerio, Rizzoli and Orecchio Acerbo. Among the recent Norwegian authors she has translated there are Knut Hamsun, Johan Harstad, Ingvild Rishøi and Kari Stai. She collaborates with Asinitas Association as a teacher of Italian L2 in courses for migrants and she holds meetings and seminars on translation and writing.
