Jacques & Lise

Jacques & Lise is a creative duo composed of Jacques Maes (1984) and Lise Braekers (1987), two Flemish freelance graphic designers with a deep love for vintage, which serves as both the inspiration and foundation of their work. Since 2010, they have collaborated on graphic projects characterized by their visual playfulness. Among the numerous awards they have received in Belgium and abroad, a standout achievement is the double prize for Viktor at the 2018 Global Illustration Awards, presented at the Frankfurter Buchmesse. They won the Excellence Award in the “Children’s Book Illustration” category and the Grand Award for the book’s overall quality—the most prestigious prize of the ceremony.
Their illustrated books have also been selected for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava, the Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair, and many more. In Italy, they won the 2023 Rodari Prize for Best Illustrated Book, once again for Viktor.

After the degree at the School for Interpreters and Translators of Trieste, and a master in audiovisual and multimedia Translation, Olga Amagliani has been working for more than ten years as translator for publishing houses, museums and agencies. For Camelozampa, she already has translated Enne Koens’ novels Sono Vincent and Non ho paura finalist for the Strega Award 2022), Da qui si vede il mondo intero and Hotel Bonbien, and Derk Visser’s Zucchero filato and Drama Queen, as well as the comic books Viktor and Più grande di un sogno.
