Marie reluctantly moves to a new neighborhood. She has to leave behind Zoë, her Best Friend and Almost Sister. But on the very first day, she meets a new friend: Yente. That summer, they swim every day, sleep outdoors, spy on boys, and grow up. With Yente, the days are full of adventure, but sometimes she suddenly becomes irritable and mean.
