Marie reluctantly moves to a new neighborhood. She has to leave behind Zoë, her Best Friend and Almost Sister. But on the very first day, she meets a new friend: Yente. That summer, they swim every day, sleep outdoors, spy on boys, and grow up. With Yente, the days are full of adventure, but sometimes she suddenly becomes irritable and mean. As the summer goes on, something begins to trouble Marie. Shouldn’t you always be able to trust a friend completely, like she trusted Zoë? Or can friendship be something very different?

Enne Koens

Enne Koens, after studying Drama, has been working as a writer and is the author of theather plays, songs, short stories and novels. She was awarded the Jonge Jury Debuutprijs, the debut prize, in 2013 and the prestigious Dutch “Vlag en Wimpel” prize for her second book.

Maartje Kuiper
(Illustrator)

Maartje Kuiper is a Dutch illustrator and designer. In 2020 she received the Flag and Pennant Honourable Mention by the jury of the Golden Paintbrush Award. For several years now, her illustrations have accompanied the novels of Enne Koens, helping to make them unique with her highly original graphic style.

Olga Amagliani

After the degree at the School for Interpreters and Translators of Trieste, and a master in audiovisual and multimedia Translation, Olga Amagliani has been working for more than ten years as translator for publishing houses, museums and agencies. For Camelozampa, she already has translated Enne Koens’ novels Sono Vincent and  Non ho paura finalist for the Strega Award 2022), Da qui si vede il mondo intero and Hotel Bonbien, and Derk Visser’s Zucchero filato and Drama Queen, as well as the comic books Viktor and Più grande di un sogno.
