Livorno the magician has captured the moon with a magic rope: the powerful caliph forbids anyone to look at it unless a fee is paid, and people come from neighbouring countries to have a chance to see the moon. Until one evening Isidore, the wizard’s young apprentice, lets go of the rope. The caliph’s punishment will be terrible, unless Isidore manages to understand the magician’s secret, which has to do with the revolutionary power of words…

Giorgos Panagiotakis
(Author)

Giorgos Panagiotakis, after working in film and television, as a magazine and website editor, and as a screenwriter for movies and video games, is now a well-regarded author of children’s books in Greece. He has been awarded the Anagnostis Book Awards twice and has been selected for the White Ravens catalog of the Internationale Jugendbibliothek in Munich.

Giada Ungredda
(Illustrator)

Giada Ungredda, a graphic designer and illustrator, attended the Master’s program in Illustration at Ars in Fabula. She has worked as an illustrator for books on gardening and nature for Mondadori, Gribaudo, White Star, and De Agostini. Her first fully illustrated book as both author and illustrator will soon be published by Yuan-Liou Publishing in Taiwan.

Tiziana Cavasino
(Translator)

She translated both prose and poetry of important Greek modern and contemporary writers, and she edited essay anthologies, short stories and poems. Among the others translated: Alki Zei, Katerina Anghelaki Rooke, Thodoros Anghelopulos, Zeta Kunduri, Basil Karadais e Kostandinos Kavafis. With the edition of Konstandinos Kavafis work Eroi, amici e amanti (Baldini Castoldi Dalai Editore 2006) she was the finalist for the Monselice Prize for the Literary Translation – Leone Traverso Section in 2007. She engaged with a language sensitive to gender differences and she collaborated to the realization of the volume Generi e Linguaggi, published in 2017 from the University of Padua.
